Our Family

Charles Burns was born about 1720 and died about 1789 in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States of America. We have discovered cousins across America who share Charles Burns as a common ancestor. Our family has participated in the American experiment since the beginnings of the British Colonial era. We acknowledge that some Burns were enslavers and Indian fighters, and we encourage descendants from these encounters to join and help us learn about this part of our family story. We know we have DNA matches with people in Europe and Australia, although the exact relationships need to be discovered.
